It May Be Hot Now, But Winter Is Coming!

Boy, it’s hot out there right now, isn’t it? Summertime temperatures in the 90s likely have you thinking about shade, air conditioning, and maybe Popsicles. And while we here at Continental Siding in Kansas City would love to install awnings over your windows to help with those high summer energy bills, we’d also like to remind you that autumn and winter are just around the corner. Yes, now is the ideal time to get the jump on those winter homeownership problems that can be such a hassle to correct once the fall rainstorms and winter snows are affecting you.

One of the biggest ways high summer energy costs can turn into expensive winter heating problems are your windows. Leaky, old windows in your home can raise your energy or gas costs considerably when the temperatures drop. Here at Continental Siding, we carry Weather Shield windows. Even the name tells you what these wonderful windows do! They insulate your home against the cold (and the heat!) so now is a great time to replace those old windows. Weather Shield windows have been making quality windows for over 50 years, and we’re confident that not only will they insulate your home, they’ll look beautiful, too.

We can also help you eliminate other wintertime woes too – such as shoveling around your car every morning. Digging out your car—and your spouse’s car—every morning can be a real drag in the frigid early-morning cold. So why not save yourself all that time and trouble by installing a high-quality carport? Our carport roofs are made of either aluminum or steel, and we custom-make them to your needs. Not only that, they’re durable as all get-out with their weather-tight polyester finish that requires almost no maintenance. You can choose either a free-standing carport, or a custom carport adjacent to your home. We know our carports will have you smiling on those winter mornings, when you’re drinking your coffee while your car warms up… and you’re watching your neighbor dig out his or her car, morning after morning.

The saying from the popular HBO television show Game of Thrones is true: “Winter is coming!” So why not let us help you be prepared? We know you’ll be happier for it!
