How’s Your Backyard Looking This Spring?

In spite of the cold weather that seems to be hanging on with a death grip here in the Kansas City area, spring is almost upon us, and that means that it’s about time to mow the lawn and fire up the grill. With that in mind, how’s your backyard looking these days? If you’ve been meaning to take up a backyard improvement project, there’s no better time than now. Whether you’re thinking of installing a new deck or patio, improving your existing setup, or doing some landscaping in the yard, spring is the perfect time to get your backyard up to snuff, so that you can spend the whole summer enjoying it!

Summer is prime grilling season, and there’s no better place to grill than on your very own outdoor deck or patio. A deck can do more than give you a place to cook up some tasty food, relax after a hard day’s work, or catch some rays. A new deck adds value to your home, as well as functionality, and can make your backyard the envy of all your neighbors. Even if you’ve already got a wooden deck, there’s a good chance that it may have seen better days. Even when treated, wooden decks will eventually weather, showing signs of aging like warping, cracking, and popped nails. After all, nobody wants to get a splinter right outside their back door!

That’s why replacing your old wooden deck with a UV-stabilized PVC deck is the way to go! PVC decks are affordable, both in the short-term and the long-haul. Not only are PVC decks from Continental Siding a breeze to install—with a patented one-piece design and slip resistant surfaces for safety—but they also save on the long-term maintenance costs associated with wooden decks.

If you’ve already got a deck that’s in good shape, you can spruce it up with the addition of aluminum or PVC railings. Railings do double duty, improving the appearance of your deck and keeping your family safe from falls and other mishaps. PVC and aluminum railings come in a variety of styles and colors to match your home and yard.

Maybe you’re not in the market for a deck this spring, but you’d like to make your backyard look a little sharper while also increasing your privacy. The right fence can completely transform the look of your home, while also creating enhanced privacy and security for your family. Our steel-reinforced fencing brings all the beauty of standard wood or metal fencing, without any of the need for sanding, scraping, or painting. Impervious to moisture, our fencing resists rust, flaking, peeling, blistering, cracking, breaking, corroding, and all other effects of abnormal weathering, making it a perfect investment, and a perfect complement to your backyard improvement projects this spring.
